A company I worked for in 2007 placed the wrong last 4 digits on my w2 form. Is it ok to still e-file my return while they send me a new one?

PostHeaderIcon .. last paycheck totals- do not agree with W2 .. is this legal?

One company used 2 separate payroll check services in one year. The last check issued by each payroll company – gave different YTD totals than on the W2 Form.

Is this legal?
HOW can this happen?

One company gave the incorrect YTD taxe total. The W2 showed over 0 more tax total.

The other company YTD Gross Wage Total showed 0 less .

What could be up with these figures ? Why would they be different ?
I have the last check stub from each indidivual company (2 separate companies).
I have 2 W2 Forms — one from each of the individual companies.
On BOTH of the W2 Forms – the totals are not the same as on the last check stub from each separate & individual company as I told above.
I took both of these W2’s .. and both of the last payroll checks issued in 2007 – to my accountant. They could not believe the big differences in YTD amounts.
