last will and testament?
this lady was the caretaker of a old man that has now passed away, the day of his burial she read the will that was made with the notary , it read that the property of the old man was to be divided between her and his two daughters , his daughters found out that the notary was the caretakers relative, is that valid here in california, the caretaker been spending all the money from the rents and has not shared anything with the daughters, the man had $$$$$$ but nobody knows what happened to it
Would this be a legal way to write a living will?
Me and my husband want to write out a living will, we’re set to inherit his grandparents house and we have two children that we want raised by my brother and sister in law if something were to happen to us. I want to get a lawyer to write it for us but my husband is very cheap. He wants to just type it on the computer then have us both sign it in front of a notary. Would this be legal enough that my in-laws could not contest it?
What constitutes a legal will?
Can you write the will yourself using a will outline or will-writing software. If so, how does it become legal? Do you need a notary?
Can you write it yourself and then take it to a lawyer to have it legalized?
Can my Last Will and Testament be notarized instead of being signed by multiple witnesses?
Illinois
This is a pretty simple will, no children or trusts involved. I just don’t feel like gathering up witnesses if I can just go to a notary. f/u question, if a notary can sign the will, is this then a self proving will?
What if you accidentaly sign something that was supposed to be notarized can you still get it notarized?
I got a legal form and I was supposed to have it notarized but my lawyer mailed it to me and said just sign where I put the tabbies and send it back in the envelope. Well after I signed everywhere, I started reading I figured if I saw something I didn’t agree with I could refuse to send it back but this was our final revised version, well I then noticed that it said that I had to have it signed in front of a notary? the last ones didn’t say this so I am worried,
ok so I signed it and then read it since it has to be mailed back kinda worried cause I already signed it but there is a notary who works next to me and I am hoping he will just let me sign the book and get away with it.
