PostHeaderIcon How do my husband and I make up a Will that is legal?

I have a child from a previous marriage and my husband has two. We also have four children together. How do we ensure that the 4 younger children are taken care of financially in the event of the death or one or both of us? The older children are 20 and 16. Will the life insurance and estate be split equally amongst the seven children or will more go to the younger ones because we have already put the 20 year old through college?

BTW: His 16 year old still lives with his mother and step father. The 20 year old is out on his own and my 16 year old lives with us.

PostHeaderIcon Last Will and Testament?

I’m just new here in USA, can I make my last will and testament online or do I have to go to the bank and have witnesses. My problem is I don’t have relatives here in our place, Michigan. Though I don’t have yet any assets or money and I’m fully dependent with my husband; but since I lost my trust on him, he is bad. He bought life insurance for me that I didn’t know as if I sense that he wanted to kill me for money to get insurance and plus because I came from another country he gives me credit cards and made me as a primary owner which at that time I sense him that my husband wants to do bad things to me. He wants to put all his debts and loans in my name he thought that I’m a foolish and I don’t know anything here in USA.
I need to write a will just in case he forge my signature or some of his credit union accounts like Michigan First Credit Union has their family CUNA Life Insurance. I’m afraid that he can still bought a life insurance for me even without health examination. The first life insurance he bought for me a nurse came to our house and check my urine and blood test; but I called veteran’s life insurance and cancelled it though my husband is the one who is paying. I just want to make sure my husband don’t have any life insurance that he bought for me. How can I make sure of that?

PostHeaderIcon Would you be mad at your wife if she…?

Me and my husband (22 and 24) and recently I volunteered to deploy to Iraq. I was getting my legal forms together (which includes a will worksheet that the lawyer works off of) and for our 18 month old son, I put my husband as guardian if I died, and my mother after him, if he died. For his side (it’s a family will) I put me first, then his mother, b/c I knew that was how he would want it. He looked over it and got mad b/c I placed my mother before his on my side. My mother and I are very close and I know she would raise my son exactly how I would…I trust her with my life. My husband is very close to his mother as well and took it as a personal insult when I started to explain that his mom does not have a job and that her marriage is not as stable as my mom’s, and my mom works 2 jobs. Also, my stepdad’s life insurance will pay off their house and land so my mom will have no bills. Sooo, I feel she is the best choice. My husband has always been really defensive over his mother and his family, so this is a last straw for me b/c he cannot be reasonable at all. What can I do?
Oops meant to say me and my husband are in the Army…
firephoe, that is what the issue is…he says if we both die at the same time there will be an issue with who he goes with. I just can’t sign over my mom’s rights though when I feel she would be best…
budgeter – that really has nothing to do with the question, but I will answer it. as a soldier, it is hard to watch everyone go and suffer and sit at a desk everyday knowing you are not doing your part. i am a soldier, so war is my craft. i train for it all the time…the way a baseball player trains for the game. my son was sick when he was born and i missed a deployment…me and my husband have been taking care of him since he was born and after his transplant in nov. now he is healthy and it is time to build my career. in the military, that includes deployments.
I think you all are confused…I filled out the worksheet…the will had not been drawn up. I filled it out and brought it home for us to discuss. I did not decide anything, that is why we discussed it before it was put in stone.
