PostHeaderIcon Legal means to make sure there is a reading of the will?

My Godmother is dying. My aunt is the executor. When my Grandmother died my aunt was also the executor and we never had a reading of the will and we know she did not follow my Grandmother’s final wishes. We live in Ontario. Is there any way we can legally insist on a reading of the will?

PostHeaderIcon How can I find my Grandparents last will and testament?

My grandmother just passed away at age 94, and my grandfather passed in 1983. My father and his sister are the only survivors, but his sister is trying to keep all of the assets. My father is the only son, and he’s the oldest. We know there was a will & testament, but she is telling him it was burned and thrown away. The attorney who drew up the papers for the will, is also deceased, and we don’t even know what his name was. There are over 100 acres of land on a ranch at stake, along with a lot of personal belongings. If you know what my father can do, your advice will be more than appreciated.

PostHeaderIcon I’m an independent student, will this affect my legal guardian filing me on her taxes?

I’m currently in college out of state and I had to file independent because my grandmother is my legal guardian and on the FASFA you can’t use grandparents unless their they have custody and she doesn’t. Will this affect her filing me on taxes?

PostHeaderIcon Is it legal for some one to abandon an 89 year old woman and make them pay their mortgage?

My grandmother paid to have a room edition added to my uncle’s house (she wanted to move back in the home she owned for so many years after living with my mother). This situation has been great for the last few years, she helps out with a few bills and has someone to look over her, until he met someone. She has two teenage daughters (he has one son) and the home is too small. It makes for cramped living space in approx. 1200 sq. feet and six people. My grandmother has stated how she is unhappy with the living situation, so instead of his girlfriend finding her own place, he has decided to move with her, they have no plans of getting married, he is fifty years old and should make more mature decisions. He told my grandmother that she would have to pay the mortgage now and the bills, her name isn’t on the mortgage. Is this legal? she will not be able to pay it. Is this a form of abandonment? we have suggested options for her, she doesn’t want to leave that house. He isn’t selling the house or filling to rent it. What, if anything could, be done?
