PostHeaderIcon Philosophy and Economics degree…what if I don’t want to pursue legal studies, will I be qualified for a job?

I am getting my bachelors. I want to major in Philosophy and Economics and a minor in business legal studies to pursue law. If I choose not to pursue law after my degree, which careers will I be qualified for? I have 10 years of full-time restaurant experience–5 of those in management.

PostHeaderIcon Need advice about my friend putting me in her last will and testament.?

My best friend of almost 10 years was told last month she has relasped with cervical cancer, she was diagnosed 7 years ago and had the lesions frozen and did not undergo any kind of chemo or radiation. And she was told last month during her annual pap that not only has it returned but the doc feels it has spread. They did biopsy’s of her hip bone, lymphnodes, nasal tissue, and eye fluid. And the doc has put her on anti-anxiety and anti-depressants and has said it will take 3 weeks for th ebiopsy results to come back and they can tell her the stage its at and everything. My question is this, my friend is a single mom with 3 kids ages 13,11,7 and she is their rock. How can i be there for my friend and help her through what will probably be the most difficult time in her whole life? I am beside myself because she didnt even tell anyone when she found out she kept it a secret for over 1 month and just now told me last week. I want to be the best friend i can and help her as much as i can but im not sure what to do at this point. I’m trying to stay positive for her and the kids but i work in healthcare so knowing the statistics of what she’s going through scare me to death. On a side note as well my friend recently told me that my husband and I are named in her will to get full custody of her children in the event she dies, the fathers are not invovled with the kids at all and she feels her parents are unfit to raise her kids. She also knows that my husband and i dont have any children yet and would be able to provide a life for them that she could only dream of. Now these kids have been in my life since very young, the youngest one since birth and are everything to me, they call me auntie and my husband uncle mike and they are wonderful kids who i would do anything for. What should i do right now til we know what we’re facing to be as supportive and caring as i can. Any cancer survivors or anyone going through something like this please i need advice. Also i do love these kids and would take them in a heartbeat if my own home life was stable but my husband and i are going through some serious personal issues right now and in fact almost divorced last month over them. I feel that my husband would not be able to handle them or the burden of suddenly becoming a 3 child family. He is only 25 after all, i am 27 but i feel better equipped to handle the kids than him because ive been around them for almost 10 yrs and my husband and i have only been married 3 yrs. I dont want to see the kids go to their grandparents in the event of my friends death because she would never want that. But i dont know if i could handle becoming a mom to 3 young kids.
P.S. I actually have a real problem, so no smart a** remarks needed, go find someone else to act witty too.

PostHeaderIcon How long before the United States suffers the same fate as France ?

One third of immigrants (illegals) are on some form of welfare, costing states nearly billion a year – adding that efforts to legalize the spiraling number of illegal aliens will only increase the amount of uneducated, uninsured legal immigrants burdening America’s welfare rolls. Since 2000, more than 10 million immigrants have entered the U.S., more than half of them illegally. With no change in U.S. immigration policy, another 15 million immigrants will likely arrive in the next 10 years.

The last seven years have been the highest period of immigration in American history," says Dr. Steven A. Camarota of www.cis.org. "The roughly 1.5 million immigrants arriving each year have a very significant effect on American life."

The question grows: how long before the United States suffers the same fate as France ? Short answer: not too much longer if the current immigration numbers continue. If U.S. citizens fail to stop all forms of immigration, this country doesn’t stand a chance against its immigrants as they outnumber, overwhelm and thoroughly change our country into something like those immigrants fled.

Unchecked Immigration in any form; a lose-lose dilemma for all Americans.
